Post Wedding Shenandoah Bridal portraits

Kaitlyn contacted me about a month out from their wedding day. They had everything set for their big wedding in Pennsylvania, but they also loved the style of elopement photos. Now they were not going on a big honeymoon because they had to be back in upstate New York for school just shortly after their wedding. They were, however, taking a few days to visit Shenandoah National Park. Kaitlyn asked if I would be up for taking some Elopement style Bridal portraits while they were there and I was like β€œHECK YES!” Since they were in Pennsylvania for the wedding, I grabbed one of my friends that likes hiking and went up to Shenandoah to scout out some places for our shoot. We found this perfect trail that led to a waterfall and a fallen tree that went over the stream. Kaitlyn and Jarrett loved the pictures I sent from the trail and the few overlooks we found on Skyline Drive. So we made a plan to spend the early afternoon hiking and exploring the Waterfall trail and then they would change into their wedding clothes and we would go to the overlooks for sunset. The day of their session we met up at the trailhead and started out. We got very lucky because we ran into barely anyone else on the trail, which in August is rare. At some points it felt like we had the park all to ourselves! We spent the hike chatting and getting to know each other. As the time came closer to sunset, we hiked back out to skyline drive. Jarrett & Kaitlyn change into their wedding clothes and we headed to some perfect overlooks for sunset! Again we were lucky because we had the most epic sunset I have ever seen in the park, maybe EVER!

We laughed, we ran around, and stayed out until the stars came out! It was the perfect day in the mountains
