As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I've had the opportunity to photograph weddings at some incredible venues throughout the city, and three venues continue to stand out for couples looking for an elevated wedding experience: The Oviatt, Millwick by Marvimon, and The Alexandria Ballrooms.

Originally built in 1928 as the private penthouse of James Oviatt, this historic venue seamlessly blends vintage glamour with modern sophistication. Couples can move effortlessly between the beautifully restored penthouse, complete with original Art Deco details, and the two-story rooftop terrace overlooking Downtown Los Angeles. The venue accommodates up to 120 guests, making it ideal for intimate and mid-sized celebrations.

Millwick | A Hidden Garden in the Heart of Downtown LA

Just a few minutes away, Millwick offers a completely different atmosphere.

Tucked inside the Arts District, this industrial venue surprises guests with a lush courtyard filled with mature greenery. Originally a warehouse, Millwick has been transformed into a modern indoor-outdoor venue with over 7,000 square feet of flexible event space, including an expansive garden courtyard that feels like a private oasis in the middle of the city.

The combination of exposed brick, clean architectural lines, and tropical landscaping makes it one of my favorite venues for couples looking for something contemporary while still feeling warm and inviting.
