It all started with church and pickleball.
Roman and Giselle first met at church, but their story didn’t really take off until their young adults group hosted a pickleball tournament in 2023. Roman confidently told Giselle that they were going to be partners for the event—and they ended up playing every game together.
About a month into talking, Giselle decided to return the favor by being just as bold. She told Roman she didn’t want to dance around things and said straight up that she liked him. The rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward to April 8th, 2025, and their love story came full circle at Rancho Guejito Vineyard, a stunning venue tucked away in the rolling hills just north of San Diego. Known for its wide-open vineyards, historic charm, and the way the golden California light hits the vines in the afternoon, Rancho Guejito is the kind of place that feels timeless—perfect for a couple whose story began with faith and a little friendly competition.
Their California wedding day couldn’t have been more beautiful. It was one of those perfect spring days with a vibrant blue sky and soft sunshine that made the vineyards glow. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, the couple served Krispy Kreme donuts—a playful nod to Roman’s job as a police officer and their shared sense of humor.
