Upper West Side NYC Couple Session

This session contains some of my favorite things: past clients and New York City! Sean & Lauren were one of my couples who got married in 2019 in Virginia. They had a beautiful boho-inspired wedding at the Historic Post Office, and we took some of their portraits on a Merry-go-round. You can see their wedding photos here! Since their wedding, I moved away from Virginia to Charlotte, North Carolina, and they also moved. When I was heading up to NYC for a wedding this past summer, I found out they were moving again, and this time to NYC. About a month or so before I would be in the city, they were becoming residents. After finding this out, we decided to meet and do a little session in their new neighborhood. Since we planned to start shooting early in the morning, we had to start the shoot as all mornings should, with coffee. We chose a local coffee shop called Black Press on the Upper West Side as our meeting spot and just caught up on life for a bit! We then walked from the coffee shop and wandered around the neighborhood, finding different locations to shoot in. There are two advantages to shooting in the early morning in NYC: 1. The city is still sleeping, so it's pretty quiet and less crowded. 2. A beautiful morning light comes through the buildings, as you can see in the photos below! After strolling through the neighborhood for a while, we made our way over to Central Park. Thankfully, we made it to the park before the crowds started rolling in for the day. Right as we were wrapping up, tour buses started arriving with the crowds. At that point, we knew it was time to grab some breakfast and end our time together with breakfast sandwiches!
