Chattanooga Tennessee Engagement

First, I just want to say this beautiful session was styled by my friend Alex in Chattanooga Tennessee. And secondly, I want to take this blog post to talk about engagement photos. I have had a lot of couples come to me without a real vision for their engagement photos. It is almost like the engagement session is just another box to check on the way to the wedding. It’s something that needs to be done for the save the dates and because everyone else does it. Today I just want to give a little bit of a different perspective on them. On the wedding day there are a lot of things happening and there are restrictions on what you can do, especially if you are having a more traditional wedding. There are the formalities that have to happen like the ceremony, you are limited to the location of your venue, and time is limited. For engagement photos, you have none of these restrictions. You can literally go anywhere, do anything your heart desires. It’s a time to express yourselves through your outfits, location, and what you do during your session. It is not just a time to capture some photos, but also create some fun memories. And if you ask me the fun memories make the best photos. I mean would you rather remember that you stood in a random field for your engagement photos or that you laughed until you cried doing something you love for you engagement photos. Please do not think I am saying you have to do something extravagant for your photos. All I am saying is your engagement is your chance to be creative, so daydream about them a bit. It can be as simple as incorporating skateboards because you both love to skate or as detailed as this shoot you see below. Just make your engagement photos your own.
