Montana Adventure Feat. Yellowstone National Park

This Past November I did something a little crazy… I took a vacation to Montana with friends in the middle of Wedding busy season. Crazy I know right?! Haha All year my business coach had been talking to me about building a healthy work life balance. I do not know about you but my business started as a side hustle and I have kept that hustle mentality with me since going full time. I can come to realize though that I do not just want to build a successful business but an overall successful life. To do that I need to switch from the hustle mentally, to build a business that works with my life. So when one day I was talking to friends about visiting Montana, I said yes. I knew that taking one weekend off in the fall would not bring my business crumbling to the ground (although some days it can feel that way), but would you know I got so many inquiries for that exact weekend once I had marked it off the calendar. I stayed strong though and it was the best decision!

I would usually find a couple to shoot when I go to a new place for content but I wanted this to be a real vacation so I did not. However two of my friends on the trip just so happen to be married and they may have stepped in front of my camera a few times during the trip. Because we didn’t plan a specific shoot and everything was just spur of the moment, there was no pressure to shoot them and it was fabulous!

We all flew into Bozeman Montana and spent a day exploring downtown! We found a coffee shop to hangout in, did some shopping, and then headed to Big Sky where we had rented an airbnb. Big Sky is about a 1 hour south from Bozeman. Where we were in Big Sky was a cute Sky town. Our Airbnb was at the top of a mountain and the whole living area had giant windows that showed a killer mountain view! The next day after settling into Big Sky we drove another 1 hour south to visit Yellowstone National Park. We spent the whole day in the park going from one end to see Old Faithful, and then ended on the other side of the park at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and its giant waterfall. There may have been one point where we were completely surrounded by Bison! It was AMAZING!

I could talk about Montana all day but this blog is already getting long so I am going to break it into 2 parts. Stay tuned to hear and see photos from our hike to a lake in Big Sky!!
