The Ruth: Charlotte North Carolina Intimate Wedding

There’s a unique charm to intimate weddings. The ones where love permeates every corner, where every glance between the couple feels like a cherished moment, and where the celebration of union feels more like an intimate gathering of cherished souls rather than a grand spectacle. And that is exactly how Kara & Josue’s day felt. One of the most captivating elements of their day was the attention to detail. Every aspect was carefully curated to reflect their personalities. From the choice of venue to the decor, and the moments they chose to keep private, there was an air of personal touches that made the days’ celebration so extraordinary.

They started their day off having a first look in Freedom Park. Kara’s parents and sister walked her out to where Josue and I were waiting. Kara’s mom fluffed out her dress right before Josue turned around to see her so it would be perfect. Then they exchanged their private vows overlooking the lake in the park. We then took some portraits in the park before heading to their venue The Ruth. A newer wedding venue in Charlotte North Carolina. The Ruth is a hidden gem. Tucked in the city of Charlotte, it offers an outdoor ceremony site that feels like a private forest in the city and a picturesque inside space. The Ruth best known for its vintage inspired bar space for photos, is where we finished up Kara & Josue Portraits. They then had a few moments to relax and freshen up before their ceremony. During their cocktail hour these two had their dinner and exchanged their gifts in private. That way they could have a few minutes alone so that when they came out for the reception they could say hello to every single one of their guests! And say hello to their guest they did. When most couples on their wedding day are having their dinner, Josue and Kara were going around to every single person that came to their wedding and having a few minutes with them. Once the speeches were done, the dancing began! They stayed on the dance floor until right before their exit, where they again snuck away to cut their cake privately. They ended the night by running through a massive amount or streamers!

For me personally the best weddings are not about the extravagance or the scale; it’s about the depth of emotions and the connection between two souls choosing to spend their lives together.
